Ge/SiGe technology

In Integrated Photonics a waveguide is the equivalent of an optical fiber: light beams can be routed, combined, split or make interfering anywhere on a planar substrate using simple optical functions fabricated on the waveguides.

Multiplexers based on Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) were developed for an operation above 8µm. These devices were specifically designed to work together with an array of Distributed Feedback Bragg Quantum Cascade Lasers (DFB-QCL) emitting at different wavelengths. Custom design and fabrication are also offered in this call for a specific application.

AWGs are in characterization stage in the range 1050-1250 cm-1.
